How to Manage DNS Records in cPanel Print

  • 0

The Domain Name System (DNS) connects your domain names to IP addresses and services. This guide walks you through how to add, modify, or delete DNS records in cPanel—whether you're pointing to your server, configuring email, or setting up subdomains.

1) Log into your Bragghost Dashboard.

2) Go to Domains and then click Zone Editor.

3) Click the Manage button beside the domain whose DNS records you want to edit. In this example, we will click manage for deltabbqplace.com.

4) Edit your DNS records:

  • To add a new record, click Add Record, select the record type (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, etc.), fill in the required details, and click Save Record.

  • To modify a record, locate it in the list, click Edit, update the fields, then click Save.

  • To delete, find the record and click the Delete icon or button.

If you have hosting through us and are set up through our default Nameservers, your default A (Address) record has been set up for you, pointing your domain to your server’s IP address.

Below is an example of what you will see when adding a new record. You can also add multiple DNS records at once by using repeated record selection or a bulk-entry mode. Simply select Add Record until you have the desired amount of records. After entering the information in the fields, click Save Record or Save All Records, if you've entered multiple at one time.

5) Save your changes. Confirm that the records are updated as desired in the list.

Explanations of Record Types:

  • A Record: Points domain to IPv4 address.

  • AAAA Record: Connects to IPv6 address.

  • CNAME (Alias): Redirects one hostname to another (e.g., subdomain → www).

  • MX (Mail Exchange): Directs mail to your email server.

  • TXT (SPF): Defines servers permitted to send email on your behalf.

  • CAA: Restricts which certificate authorities can issue SSL certificates for the domain.

  • SRV: Specifies services like VOIP or messaging.
