How To Setup ID Protection On A Domain Name Print

  • 0

ID Protection is a service that replaces your domain “registrant” information in the WHOIS with the info of a forwarding service (for email and sometimes postal mail, done by a proxy server). ID Protection will prevent you from getting SPAM email and from people finding out your address or other personal information.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to setup ID protection on a domain name.

1) Login to the Bragghost

2) Click Domains

3) Select the domain that you would like to add ID protection to. (Note: Click anywhere within the area of the domain name to open domain management, as seen below. Don't click the domain name; that will only forward you to your website.)

4) On this page, under the Manage menu on the left side of the screen, click Addons.

5) From the addons page, we're going to click the Buy Now for $5.95 USD link (price subject to change).

6) Now, we'll click the green Buy Now button.

7) We'll then be forwarded to an invoice page where we'll be asked to Pay Now using our credit card on file. We'll click Pay Now button.

8) Complete payment details on the next page and click Continue. We'll then be redirected to an Invoice Paid screen and can return to the Client Area with ID Protection on our selected domain name.

9) Notice when we return to the Domain Management page, the service no longer says "Buy Now" and we are given the option to disable it.
