If you’re moving your website from another hosting provider to Bragghost, we're happy to help with the transition. We offer one free website migration per hosting account within 30 days of signup, and we’ll take care of most of the technical work — you just provide the access details to your old hosting account provider.

What We Can Migrate for You

Depending on your current hosting setup, we can migrate either:

• Your entire cPanel account — includes all websites, files, databases, and settings.

• A single website — includes your website files and database only (commonly used for WordPress).

Both methods ensure your site, data, and configuration move safely to Bragghost.

Free Migration Includes

• One full cPanel migration (including emails, databases, etc.) as long as we are able to obtain a full cPanel backup or one website migration per hosting account.

• Test migration and verification before making your site live.

If your site uses multiple domains, large databases, or advanced scripts, we’ll review your case first and let you know if additional steps or fees apply.

Important Migration Limitations

• Free migration window: Must be requested within 30 days of signup.

• Non-cPanel migrations: If your current host does not use cPanel or we’re unable to obtain a complete, non-corrupt cPanel backup, we’ll migrate only your website files and one (1) database.

• Size limit: Accounts larger than 5 GB compressed do not qualify for the complimentary migration service. These can still be migrated for an additional fee.

• File integrity: If your backup is incomplete or damaged, we’ll contact you with options before proceeding. Our free migration service is provided on a "best effort" basis.

• Domain name: The migration of your website does not include transferring your domain name, that is a separate process.

Review Your Account Limits Before Migrating

Before starting your migration, it’s important to review your account’s file and resource limits to ensure a smooth transfer.

For those unfamiliar, an inode represents a single file on your hosting account — this includes every web page, image, email, log, or folder stored in your cPanel. Each Bragghost hosting plan includes a maximum inode limit:

• Starter and Next-Level Plans: up to 250,000 inodes

• Professional and Business Plans: up to 500,000 inodes

If your existing hosting account exceeds these limits, certain features (like email delivery or backups) may stop functioning correctly once migrated. These limits are essential to maintaining server speed, reliability, and performance for all customers.

Before migrating, log in to your current hosting account and check your inode usage. Most hosts display this inside of cPanel. If your file count is very high, consider cleaning out old emails or unnecessary files before submitting your migration request.

How to Request Your Migration

1. Log in to your Bragghost Client Area

2. From the main menu, select Open Ticket, and choose the Technical Support Department. All migration requests are currently handled through this department.

3. Complete the form and choose “Migration Request” as the Ticket Category. Include the following information in your ticket:

   • Current hosting provider name

   • URL to current website(s)

   • Type of migration requested (Full cPanel or Website only)

   • Login details for your old host (cPanel URL, username, password)

   • Domain(s) you want migrated (if applicable)

   • CMS type (e.g., WordPress, static HTML, custom)

   • Any special notes (e.g., multiple sites, email setup, or database size)

4. Click Submit and our Technical Support team will review your request within 24–48 hours.

What to Expect

• You’ll receive a confirmation within 24 business hours of your request.

• We will request access to your current hosting environment to conduct the transfer.

• Most migrations are completed within 24–72 hours, depending on size and complexity.

• You’ll be notified when the cPanel or Website migration process is complete and nameservers are ready to be switched.

Need Additional Migrations?

Note: Your website migration and domain transfer can happen in either order. However, we recommend completing your website migration first so you can verify your site is running properly before updating DNS or transferring the domain.
